Beyonce Adds Interior Designer to Resume

News is circulating that Bey’s adding to the “House of Dereon” empire by pushing out an interior design line with a special focus on bedroom furnishings.

“As someone who has also realised many interior-design projects, I am so excited to expand our House of Dereon and Dereon brands in this category. The thought that we would have something to do in brightening up someone”s home, especially bedrooms, is truly wonderful,” said the singer”s mother Tina Knowles.

”House of Dereon” was launched by the Knowles family in 2006 as a pret-a-porter fashion line, and followed soon after by the Dereon line, for younger women. Dereon was the maiden name of Beyonce”s grandmother Agnez Dereon, whose married name Agnez Beyince inspired the singer”s first name. The collection is sold with the tagline ”Couture. Kick.

(((I love Beyonce, but I wouldn’t be caught dead in her line.  She can do no wrong, except w/ that dreadful line.)))

Wale Loves the “Gays”

Recently, Wale caught some heat from the DC LGBT community for pulling out of the DC Gay Pride Festival. Peep DCist’s story below:

Wale had originally been scheduled to headline Black Pride’s main concert event on Sunday, but a week ago, organizers told reporters they had received word from the rapper’s agent that he would not appear. The agent at first said that Wale had a family obligation, then later explained that he didn’t know Black Pride was a gay-related event when he agreed to perform, according to festival spokesperson Earl Fowlkes.

Local LGBT leaders were quick to condemn the move and accuse Wale of homophobia. Responding on Twitter, the rapper claimed he never knew about the show or the cancellation. Then on Tuesday, he followed up to say he would try to be there.

“I’m cancelling what I was supposed to be go …yeah ILL BE THERE!! I’m not scared nor do I have any hatred for ANYBODY,” read the tweet.

Wale will reportedly appear for free as a guest artist. Rapper R&B singer J. Holiday, who stepped in after Wale backed out, will remain the headliner.

(((Kudos to Wale.)))
